Autism Spectrum Disorder is becoming more prevalent. While there are a number of theories about why the incidence is increasing there are no effective cures at this stage. Medical and developmental interventions can reduce the impact of the symptoms and a number of programs have been developed to allow ASD individuals to participate more productively in the workforce. Recognizing the social impacts on families with members with ASD, the barriers to their participation in the workforce and rising economic cost of the management of autism and the labour-intensive cost of interventions program, this report identifies current and emerging interventions and technologies to support this growing population.
